The Mandalorian and Grogu will herald a new era of Star Wars theatrical releases in 2026. Spinning off from Disney+ series The Mandalorian, the Jon Favreau-directed movie has plenty to prove after the third season of the series failed to quite match the previous seasons, and following the divisive Star Wars sequel trilogy that ended with 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. For some, though, a more pressing matter has been online rumors about whether the movie’s lead star, Pedro Pascal, even appears in the movie, and it seems Sigourney Weaver has finally put all doubts of Pascal ducking out on his duties to bed.

While speaking to Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Weaver responded to his praise of Star Wars series Andor by saying, “But it won’t be as good as The Mandalorian [& Grogu]. Just letting you know.”

Weintraub recovered by saying that he, like everyone else in the world, has not yet seen the new movie, so admitted that it could be better than Andor. After noting how Andor’s seriousness is countered by “a fun time at the movies” that The Mandalorian & Grogu will deliver, Weaver added:

“Well, let’s see shall we? I’m sure it will be at least that, right? And we have Pedro Pascal.”

This obviously shouldn’t really be news, but despite Pascal’s character of Din Djarin being the joint titular lead of the movie, several rumors that the actor was not physically part of the production and just provided voice over work as he did in some episodes of The Mandalorian when necessary. However, Weaver’s comments seem to confirm that this is definitely not the case and should put those persistent rumors to bed.

Pedro Pascal Has Already Told Everyone How Great the Set Was

When it comes to rumors on social media, people will always believe whatever they choose to believe and it is often impossible to change their mind. The fact that some people still think that Pascal did not actually get into the Mandalorian suit for the movie is ridiculous, but here we are.

However, back in April, Pascal shared his experiences from filming on “the incredible sets” used for the movie, which he said are even more awesome than those of The Mandalorian. He said:

“There have been so many instances where I’ve just looked back at Jon and said directly to him, ‘How the hell did you do this?’ I think he’s a genius, and I realized that he is my Jedi Master. The overview that he has of this kind of storytelling in terms of the world building, the characters – old and new – and his casting, he’s just a genius. And so the sets match that standard completely.”

So, just as a recap, Pascal does appear in The Mandalorian & Grogu, as Din Dajrin, in the flesh. Let that be an end to it.
