The spooky month is upon us, and horror fans will be celebrating with 31-day challenges or revisiting their annual favorites, from classics like Night of the Living Dead to modern hits like The Black Phone. With most film fans focused on horror, it makes sense that Shudder, the streaming platform home to the genre, will have an explosive month.

Fans will want to tune in for the month’s special events, including the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards and a fresh batch of groundbreaking short films from emerging talents in the genre, during Etheria Film Night 2025. Of course, longtime fans of the platform will be excited not only to get more Joe Bob Briggs with The Last Drive-In, but also a new special, Just Joe Bob, that offers a more dialogue-driven movie companion. Additionally, the platform has added a fantastic selection of films and TV series. Here are the must-watch titles coming to Shudder in October 2025. Below that, you can see a complete list of everything coming to the platform.

‘The Brood’ (1979)

Available to Stream October 1

From acclaimed director David Cronenberg, The Brood follows Frank Carveth, a man struggling with a divorce and custody battle with his estranged wife, Nola, who is undergoing treatment for mental health at an experimental facility. When Frank’s son comes home with scratches all over him, it sets him on a crusade against the institution holding Nola. At the same time, a series of murders begins to take place, with odd monster-like children as the culprits.

Consider kicking off your 31 days of Halloween with this underrated Cronenberg creature feature/body horror flick. While not as heavily championed as some of his other horror films, The Brood is rich in atmosphere and genuine terror, with enough of the surreal Cronenberg edge to still make it a wild ride. Scanners is also being added on the same day, if you want to make it a double feature.

‘V/H/S/Halloween’ (2025)

Available to Stream October 3

The long-running found footage franchise lands with a Halloween film for its 8th installment, with V/H/S/Halloween. Tapping a new team of talented directors, the movie features a fresh batch of segments: Diet Phantasma (Bryan M. Ferguson), Coochie Coochie Coo (Anna Zlokovic), Ut Supra Sic Infra (Paco Plaza), Fun Size (Casper Kelly), Kidprint (Alex Ross Perry), and Home Haunt (Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman).

As with any horror anthology, V/H/S/Halloween navigates some highs and lows throughout its six-segment two-hour runtime. Still, digging into each segment and discussing them with friends has always been part of the appeal of the franchise. More importantly, horror fans are guaranteed six segments themed around the hallowed holiday where the genre reigns supreme — an easy addition to the Halloween watch-list.

‘The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Titans’ (2025) – Season 2

Available to Stream October 7

Aside from its inaugural season, The Boulet Brothers have been bringing their unique style of drag to Shudder with the reality TV competition show Dragula for several seasons. Titans marks a return of fan-favorite and fierce competitors from previous seasons vying for $100,000 and a chance to headline the forthcoming 2026 Dragula World Tour. A total of 14 contestants ensures plenty of chaos, drama, and shocking and thrilling drag performances.

Leaning on the principles of celebrating the mash-up of horror, filth, and glamour, Dragula offers a macabre and sensational take on drag that is ideal for horror fans. While icons of RuPaul’s Drag Race tend to pay homage to greats like Cher, Beyoncé, and Liza Minnelli, the queens of Dragula pay homage to Vampira, Divine, and Elvira. Fans can also expect to see new twists on classics from cenobites to Art the Clown on the stage.

‘O.T.H.E.R.’ (2025)

Available to Stream October 17

In O.T.H.E.R., Alice (Olga Kurylenko) returns to her hometown after a long absence, having heard the news that her mother was murdered. At her childhood home, Alice is shocked to find that her mother has equipped the house with state-of-the-art surveillance, tracking her every move. As she delves deeper into what caused her mother to become paranoid, Alice discovers that a dark presence inhabits her family home.

Following the vastly underrated, single-shot psychedelic nightmare that was MadS, French director David Moreau presents a macabre tale of domestic paranoia with O.T.H.E.R. The Shudder Original horror movie, which previously had a festival run and VOD release, has fans touting its anxiety-inducing mash-up of psychological horror and a dive into paranoia as a macabre treat.

‘Hell House LLC: Lineage’ (2025)

Available to Stream October 17

One of the most beloved found footage film franchises switched up the format for its fifth and final installment, Hell House LLC: Lineage. Here, the film follows Vanessa Shepard (Elizabeth Vermilyea), who is haunted by visions after surviving a near-death experience. Finding herself in the town of Abbadon, a series of deaths piques her interest and draws her toward the Abaddon Hotel and Carmichael Manor, exploring their history of death.

While the final installment in the Hell House LLC franchise would be met with mixed to negative reviews, there is still an undeniable excitement about the franchise concluding with a fresh take on the formula that made it so beloved. More importantly, Hell House LLC has long been a staple of Shudder, and fans of the franchise can make October the month to binge the entire franchise in one go.
