With only a few months left in 2025, Netflix has begun promotion for the highly anticipated second season of One Piece, an adaptation of the highly successful manga of the same name created by Eiichiro Oda. The first season of One Piece premiered in Summer 2023, and while there has been quite a long wait for the next season, it’s been for good reason. The latest production is massive, as the series aims to successfully adapt the next arcs of the manga. Now, a new piece of promotional material has been released, teasing an iconic set piece from the manga that marks the next big step in Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hats’ journey on the grand line.
The new poster, which can be viewed in the Instagram post below, features the ship of the Straw Hats, the Going Merry, going up the Reverse Mountain. In the One Piece manga, Reverse Mountain is the first big trial for wanna-be adventurers who wish to cross into the Grand Line. The deadly nature of the entrance (and it being only one of two to get onto the Grand Line) leads to one of the more exciting sea-faring sequences of the manga.
Netflix’s One Piece has done an excellent job of translating the more fantastical elements into live-action, and this latest poster further cements the series as a faithful adaptation. The first official trailer for the new season didn’t disappoint either, featuring elements like Giants, eccentric new crew members, and exotic new locations. This look at Reverse Mountain shows that the series isn’t shying away from the massive scale, and it will be interesting to see how the visual effects translate the intense journey up the mountain.
Netflix’s ‘One Piece’ Season 2 Is Increasing the Scale
Netflix’s One Piece Season 2 is set to adapt the first half of the Baroque Works arc of the manga, which sees the Straw Hats embark on their first big adventure on the Grand Line as they uncover a large criminal conspiracy to destabilize a Kingdom. Because of the large number of movie pieces and characters in this next arc, it seems as though it will be split across two seasons worth of episodes. Joe Manganiello, who is set to play Sir Crocodile, has spoken about work getting started on the third season in the past, so fans shouldn’t have to wait as long as they did for the upcoming episodes.
Interestingly, Netflix’s One Piece Season 2 has yet to receive an exact release date. Despite the large number of promotional images, videos, and marketing that has been done for the series so far, the next batch of episodes has only been confirmed to release sometime in 2026. Hopefully, the new season will land on the streaming service early in the new year, allowing fans to experience Eiichiro Oda’s sprawling story in live-action, and get that much closer to the epic battles that await in Season 3.
