MCU star Dave Bautista is back in action in the first trailer for Trap House. However, rather than pitting him against an equally gigantic adversary, Bautista will go head-to-head with his own teenage child in the action thriller, as he reunites with Stuber director Michael Dowse for what promises to be a thrilling game of cat and mouse…with a familial twist.
“They learned from the best,” reads the caption alongside the Trap House trailer (which you can check out below), with the footage revealing that elite DEA agents Bautista and his partner, played by Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Ant-Man’s Bobby Cannavale, will face off against their own rebellious kids, who use the skills taught to them by their parents to carry out their own brand of justice.
Directed by Michael Dowse and written by Gary Scott Thompson and Tom O’Connor, Trap House stars Jack Champion (Avatar: Fire and Ash), Sophia Lillis (It), Kate del Castillo (The Book of Life), Tony Dalton (The Last of Us), Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Inde Navarrette (Superman & Lois), Zaire Adams (Senior Year), and Blu del Barrio (Star Trek: Discovery) alongside Dave Bautista and Bobby Cannavale. The action thriller is all set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025, and you can check out both the newly released trailer and official synopsis below…
“In El Paso, Texas, an undercover DEA agent and his partner embark on a game of cat and mouse with an audacious group of thieves: their own rebellious teenagers.”
Alongside ‘Trap House,’ Dave Bautista Has Plenty of Action in the Pipeline
Trap House promises to be another uniquely thrilling action outing for Dave Bautista, who has quickly cemented himself not only as one of, if not the best wrestler-turned-actor of the moment, but a deeply captivating actor in his own right. Having now left the Marvel Cinematic Universe behind (Drax has not been confirmed for either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars), Bautista has several hugely exciting projects currently in the pipeline.
The actor will cross swords with Henry Cavill in the long-awaited reboot of the action fantasy franchise, Highlander, with Bautista expected to play the main villain of the piece, The Kurgan. Continuing his villainous duties, Bautista has also been cast in the Amazon action follow-up Road House 2, where he will exchange punches with a returning Jake Gyllenhaal.
Bautista will continue to make action movie fans’ dreams come true by teaming up with Fast X and Supergirl star Jason Momoa in the upcoming buddy cop outing, The Wrecking Crew. The Wrecking Crew was made a reality after fans started calling for former Aquaman-now-Lobo star Jason Momoa to team-up with former guardian of the galaxy Dave Bautista. The idea quickly appealed to the latter, who took to social media back in 2021 and said, “Just going to throw this out into the atmosphere and see what happens. Here we go… Me and Momoa in a Lethal Weapon type buddy cop movie directed by David Leitch. Ok! There it is. Now we wait.”
While the project did not land Bullet Train director David Leitch, they did get Ángel Manuel Soto on board, who is best known for the DC outing Blue Beetle. The Wrecking Crew will follow Momoa and Bautista as “two half-brothers — one a loose cannon cop (Momoa) and the other a disciplined Navy SEAL (Bautista). After 20-odd years of bad blood, they must work together to unravel the conspiracy behind their father’s murder in Hawaii.”
