Desperate times call for desperate measures, and it seems that Francis Ford Coppola is having to take some necessary action to try and recoup some money. The Academy Award-winning director self-funded his last film, 2024’s Megalopolis, to the tune of $120 million, as he reportedly struggled to secure studio financing for his ambitious passion project. However, when the dystopian epic eventually hit theaters, it was a commercial failure, grossing just $14.3 million at the worldwide box office, despite boasting a talented cast with some significant star power, including the likes of Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, and Laurence Fishburne.
