John Wick star and B-movie action icon Scott Adkins has confirmed the return of one of his best franchises. Adkins has been plying his trade and demonstrating his particular set of skills for years in the likes of the Undisputed franchise, Avengement, and Ip Man 4, as well as minor roles in the MCU and Expendables franchises, but the actor and martial artist finally got (some) of the recognition he deserves after exchanging punches with Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 4. Now, Adkins is back to doing what he does best…and all in one shot.

Taking to his Patreon account, Adkins has revealed that a third and likely final outing in the One Shot series, titled One Last Shot, is now filming, with the actor reuniting with a former adversary in the action thriller follow-up. Sharing footage of himself looking bloodied and bruised, Adkins also revealed that he will face-off once again with his Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear co-star and fellow martial arts master, Kane Kosugi.

Footage shared by Adkins shows the pair delivering fists, elbows, and knee strikes at each other, with anyone familiar with their stunning fight scene in Ninja 2 no doubt salivating at the thought of their violent reunion. In the footage, Adkins heaped praise on Kosugi, as well as his frequent co-star and fellow John Wick alum Marko Zaror.

‘One Last Shot’ Will Find Scott Adkins Under Fire Once Again

Destination Films

Released in 2021, One Shot is unique in its approach to the action thriller genre, with the whole movie made to look like one, continuous take. Directed by James Nunn, One Shot introduces Adkins as elite Navy SEAL Lt. Blake Harris, who must fight to retrieve a prisoner from a CIA black site in order to prevent a terrorist attack on Washington D.C. The base is soon under heavy attack and, thanks to the way One Shot is put together, you feel like you’re right alongside Adkins as he dodges bullets and takes out bad guys.

The sequel, One More Shot, landed in 2024 and picks up where the first movie left off. Once again edited to look like one shot, the follow-up finds Harris tasked with escorting a key terrorist suspect and delivering him for interrogation before an explosive device is detonated somewhere in the U.S. Of course, Harris soon finds himself trapped inside an airport and surrounded by terrorists. Luckily, he brought his fists.

Plot details for One Last Shot currently remain unknown, but it’s likely that the third outing will follow suit and pick up right after the second movie, as well as once again looking like one, continuous take. James Nunn is back in the director’s chair, and with Kane Kosugi on board as the main villain of the piece, One Last Shot could prove to be the best installment in the underrated action franchise.

Scott Adkins is on a hot streak this year, with both Prisoner of War and Diablo showing the action star at his absolute best. Adkins has several exciting projects currently in the pipeline, including the sci-fi action sequel Skyline: Warpath, the 1700s-set revenge tale Bedlam, and the Netflix action thriller The Rip, which also stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
