After premiering earlier this year to rave reviews from critics, Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski’s apocalyptic thriller has finally been unveiled in an action-packed new trailer. Sam Rockwell plays a man who comes from the future to save humanity from a rogue AI, and it looks as crazy as it sounds.
The official teaser trailer for Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die has been released by Briarcliff Entertainment. Following its debut at Fantastic Fest 2025, the distributor acquired the unconventional sci-fi epic and settled on a February 13 theatrical release. The film stars Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, Asim Chandhry, Tom Taylor, and Juno Temple. As revealed in the Red Band trailer below, Rockwell leads an unlikely group of heroes to save the world from artificial intelligence, which includes battling an army of people under a zombie-like trance.
Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die seems like Verbinski’s most relevant work yet, while still retaining his unique penchant for fantasy. After his psychological thriller A Cure for Wellness hit theaters in 2016, the acclaimed director took a long break before returning to the director’s chair for his new dystopian movie. Fortunately, it seems the wait will be worth it, as Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die looks to be a worthy entry in Verbinski’s filmography. Check out the film’s official logline:
A man claiming to be from the future takes the patrons of an iconic Los Angeles diner hostage in search of unlikely recruits in a quest to save the world.
