It has been four years since Euphoria Season 2 aired its finale, but HBO has finally set a release window for Season 3. Created by Sam Levinson based on the Israeli series of the same name, Euphoria follows a group of teenagers’ social circles as they explore sexuality, drugs, and the hierarchy of high school.
HBO announced today that Euphoria Season 3 will officially debut in April 2026. They also released an official poster for the series, showing Ruth (Zendaya) in a car with a caption “Let’s Ride.” Series regulars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, and Maude Apatow are all set to reprise their roles. ‘Euphoria’ Lands Emmy Qualifying Premiere Date
The production of Euphoria Season 3 was rather hectic, as it was originally set to begin filming in December 2023. However, it was delayed following the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes as well as the death of actor Angus Cloud on July 31, 2023. Filming took place from February to November 2025. While most of the cast is returning, star Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat Hernandez on the series, departed before Season 3 began filming. Storm Reid, who played the younger sister of Zendaya’s character Rue, is also not returning for Season 3.
HBO is giving Euphoria the prime April release window that, in past years, was notably reserved for Game of Thrones. Many initially expected the DCU series Lanterns to premiere in this release window, as it was planned before the theatrical release of Supergirl. Lanterns has since been delayed until late summer. Euphoria might have taken precedent to debut in April to qualify for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, whose window of consideration concludes on May 31, 2026. Euphoria Season 1 and Season 2 were nominated for Outstanding Drama at the Emmy Awards in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
Euphoria Season 1 ran for eight episodes from June 16, 2019, to August 4, 2019. Between Season 1 and 2 they aired two specials, the first on December 6, 2020, with the second on January 24, 2021. Season 2 of Euphoria Season 2 debuted on January 9, 2022, and concluded on February 27 that same year. This means that by the time Euphoria Season 3 airs, it will have been over four years since the Season 2 finale and nearly seven years since the series premiered on HBO. Given the busy schedules of much of the main cast, Euphoria Season 3 is expected to be its last, though no confirmation has been made yet.
