EXCLUSIVE: BarbieLand, in all its brightly-colored delight, is coming to London.

We hear Secret Cinema and TodayTix, in collaboration with Barbie owner Mattel and Warner Bros, are set to launch an immersive experience in the UK capital’s theater heartland, the West End. Should the deal close, Barbie in BarbieLand will run next summer for eight weeks.

Similar to the recent Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical experience, the Barbie pop-up will take Greta Gerwig‘s movie beyond the big screen for a series of events and promos.

These comprise theatrical performances from a West End cast, immersive sets where consumer can experience BarbieLand stories take place, a BarbieLand Carnival, dancefloors, and themed food and drink.

A creative team will be announced soon, with the partners behind the experience saying its members will have credits spanning the West End, Broadway and the music industry’s “biggest hits.”

Early access ticket sign-ups have gone on online ahead of general sale in December, and O2 Priority customers will get presale access as well.

Here’s the promo released this morning.

“We’re beyond excited to bring Greta Gerwig’s brilliant Barbie The Movie, inspired by Mattel’s Barbie brand to life in a way that only Secret Cinema can,” said Merritt Baer, Artistic Director of Secret Cinema and Co-Founder of TodayTix.

“In collaboration with Mattel and Warner Bros., we’re inviting audiences to step through the iconic pink doors of BarbieLand – to sing, dance and celebrate together. It’s part-immersive experience, part-West End theatre and without a doubt, the best night out you’ll have all year.”
