An early box office projection for Tron: Ares has arrived, and it already looks to match and possibly exceed the opening weekend number for the previous film.
Deadline reports that Tron: Ares is currently projected to hit $44 million at the domestic box office during opening weekend. However, the outlet maintains that there is a good chance that Ares speeds past that number, especially since previous IMAX releases this year went well over their projections. The next installment in the Tron franchise might be able to surpass the previous film, Legacy, which released in 2010 by $44 million.
