No laws. No fear. No mercy. Featuring an all-star cast, the upcoming Western thriller Frontier Crucible has unleashed its first trailer, with the stark dusty landscapes and the blood that stains them promising the next Bone Tomahawk. Survival is the name of the game after a former soldier forms an uneasy alliance with a trio of outlaws who find themselves being hunted after they accidentally kill an Apache scout. Cue the intense stand-offs and merciless violence.

Directed by Travis Mills, Frontier Crucible is based on the novel “Desert Stake-Out” by Harry Whittington. The Western outing features an all-star cast that includes Myles Clohessy, Mary Stickley, Eli Brown, Ryan Masson, Zane Holtz, Eddie Spears, William H. Macy, and Thomas Jane. The movie also marks the return of controversial actor Armie Hammer, who was blacklisted a few years ago after several allegations of misconduct, sexual abuse, and even cannibalistic fetishes were leveled against the actor by multiple women.

Frontier Crucible is due to be released in Theaters and On Digital on December 5, 2025 (via Well Go USA Entertainment), and you can check out both the new trailer and the official synopsis below…

“A desperately needed wagon full of medical supplies falls victim to an Apache attack. The only man who can guide it through to its destination is Merrick Beckford, but in order to get there, he’ll need to enlist the help of a trio of dangerous outlaws hell-bent on survival. When they accidentally kill an Apache scout, all bets are off, and survival is the name of the game in director Travis Mills’s western thriller.”

In ‘Frontier Crucible,’ There Will Be Blood…

The trailer teases an assortment of Western tropes, from the quiet hero to the more-complex-than-they-appear outlaws, but with a horrifically violent thriller edge. The footage makes notable mention of producer Dallas Sonnier, who is best known for such brutal outings as Brawl in Cell Block 99, Dragged Across Concrete, and the nightmare-inducing Western horror movie Bone Tomahawk.

“I’ve built a career producing masculine indie movies, such as Bone Tomahawk, Brawl in Cell Block 99, Dragged Across Concrete, Muzzle and The Standoff at Sparrow Creek and worked with legendary actors including Kurt Russell, Vince Vaughn, Mel Gibson, Jason Sudeikis, Guy Pearce, Aaron Eckhart, Don Johnson, Stephen Lang, James Badge Dale, Steve Austin, and more. And, now, I’m pumped to work with Armie Hammer on Frontier Crucible,” Sonnier said of the project and Hammer’s return in a statement.
