Gerard Butler continues to expand his action filmography in an exciting new thriller that pairs him with a fan-favorite actor from the MCU.
According to Deadline, Hayley Atwell has joined Gerard Butler in Empire City, an upcoming action thriller from director Michael Matthews (Love & Monsters). The project was revealed last year under a different name and director, but it seems the story and title have been tweaked under a new creative team. Read the plot description courtesy of Deadline:
“In Empire City, when a hostage crisis erupts inside New York’s landmark Clybourn Building, firefighter Rhett (Butler), his squad, and his NYPD wife Dani (Atwell) must fight and navigate their way through the building to rescue the captives.”
