Marvel Studios is worrying Daredevil fans after The Direct spotted that Disney has removed Daredevil: Born Again from its slate of upcoming releases on its press site, which previously listed the series as debuting March 4, 2026. Now, the site only states that the series will arrive “in 2026.” While there could be many reasons for the March 4 release date to have been dropped, it is hard not to take this as some kind of sign that fans will have to wait a little longer to see how Matt Murdock’s return to screens plays out.
For several months now, Marvel Head of Television Brad Winderbaum has made it clear that, unlike other streaming shows, the plan is for Daredevil: Born Again to be an annual event on Disney+. Work is already underway on Season 3 and beyond, but could the quick turn around be causing issues with post-production time?
Currently, Marvel’s own site has the show listed for release in March 2026, meaning that if there is a change on the horizon, it could be just a few days or weeks at the most. There have been no reports of problems with the production, and those are the kind of things that Marvel Studios often finds it hard to keep a lid on if there have been any significant filming delays or problems in post.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Could Run for Years
While Marvel Studios has been accused of putting out too much content with the arrival of Disney+, there have been very few shows to have received multiple seasons. So far, outside animated shows like X-Men ’97 and What If…?, only Loki has received a direct second season. WandaVision has had “sequel” series in Agatha All Along and the upcoming VisionQuest, but no “Season 2.”
Daredevil: Born Again is set to break that mold and become the MCU’s first ongoing TV series. Winderbaum previously said:
“[We’ve] embraced a traditional development cycle. […] We’re like a normal studio, developing more than we make, and only putting forward what we think is the best stuff. And stuff that can [sustain] multiple seasons. You know, like Daredevil: Born Again is an annual release every March for as long as people enjoy the show.”
Fans are already hyped up for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, with the new season finally bringing back fan-favorite character Jessica Jones. Krysten Ritter will be reprising her role as the super-powered private investigator for the first time since 2019, continuing the trend of incorporating “lost” characters from former branches of the Marvel franchise.
We will likely not find out in the immediate future whether there has been a delay with Season 2’s release, as Disney has been incredibly cagey about sharing exact release dates until just weeks before the premiere. For now, it looks like Daredevil: Born Again will still arrive sometime in March 2026, it just may no longer be as early in the month as expected.
