DCU star Joel Kinnaman is back with another action film, this time playing an unexpected hero looking for redemption in the coldest parts of the world. Heading straight to digital next month, his latest project looks like an explosive thriller that will be perfect for the late-night popcorn watch. And, judging by the new trailer, it is safe to say that Kinnaman is on a Liam Neeson-esque trajectory to becoming a consistent face in the genre.

Aura Entertainment has released the official trailer Icefall, an upcoming action thriller that sees Kinnaman play a notorious poacher looking for redemption. The Suicide Squad actor is joined by Cara Jade Myers (Killers of the Flower Moon), a young Native American game warden who arrests Kinnaman’s character. After he finds out that a plane carrying millions crashed in a frozen lake, all hell breaks loose as a dramatic, bloody pursuit is unleashed in the snowy terrain. Check out the trailer below.

Icefall will release on digital and video on demand on November 4. The film was directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky (Hinterland), based on a screenplay by George Mahaffey (Chief of Station) and Steve Isles (The Possession of David O’Reilly). In addition to Kinnaman and Myers, the cast features Danny Huston (The Naked Gun), Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves), Martin Sensmeier (The Magnificent Seven), Oliver Trevena (Paradox Effect), and Devaughn Nixo (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty). Read the logline:

After capturing a notorious poacher, a young Native American game warden learns that he is aware of the location of a plane carrying millions of dollars that has crashed in a frozen lake.
