While the internet is filling up with even more fake images of X-Men and Avengers ahead of next year’s Avengers: Doomsday, returning legacy star Kelsey Grammer has been sharing just a few actual details about the highly anticipated MCU multiverse movie. Unlike the images of the likes of Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and others in dressing rooms and on set, Grammer actually sat down and really spoke to someone about what really happened during filming.

While many fans of Grammer’s character, Hank McCoy, aka Beast, were a little disappointed when his former practical appearance as seen in the original X-Men movies had been replaced with a CGI version when he had a brief cameo in the post-credits scene of The Marvels. However, this version is more in line with his animated form in X-Men ’97, so it continues to bring the characters in line with their comic book origins compared to the ones seen in 2000’s X-Men and its sequels.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the former Frasier star revealed that this time around he has actually been on set and worked with several other Marvel heroes…and a villain. He said:

“I’m a big of Robert Downey Jr. I love him and he’s just a terrific fella. We… sort of share a scene. I don’t wanna go too into that. I don’t know what I can say or not say. I really had a great time with the new guy from Fantastic Four — Pedro, wonderful guy. I really, really enjoyed hanging out with him and we worked …together.”

It seems that Grammer has been more involved in the upcoming movie than many believed he would be, with Beast now being a completely CGI character, and he clearly is doing more than just providing a voice role. Exactly how big a role Beast has in a film is still unknown, as there will be a lot of characters to fit into the movie considering its extensive cast list.

When Beast made his first MCU live-action appearance in The Marvels, it was quite a surprise (to those who made sure to avoid spoilers, obviously). For Grammer, though, it was great to return to a character he loved, and at the time, he had hopes for more.

“It is my hope that you will [see him again]. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that you will. I would love to. I’ve always wanted to play him again. I see him as an extraordinary character, a real character of gravitas and importance in our culture. I’m delighted Beast is back and hope he’s back in a real way.”

Now, we know that like many other Fox X-Men stars, Grammer will be back for Avengers: Doomsday, but will he also be back for Avengers: Secret Wars? That is something that even Grammer is not spilling on just yet.
