Quentin Tarantino‘s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, which combines Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2, is headed to theaters next month, and to celebrate the long-awaited release, the filmmaker partnered with Fortnite to develop the short The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge. The short itself will be debuting inside the world of Fortnite on November 30, with the first teaser for the short being released online, which you can watch below. In addition to this short being developed by Tarantino himself, the short sees Uma Thurman voicing her iconic “Bride,” and also contributed a motion-capture performance to the short. The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge premieres in Fortnite on November 30 at 2 p.m. ET.

Tarantino fanatics might not be entirely surprised by what unfolds in the short, as the events of it were included in previous versions of the script. The story takes place after the Bride dispatched the Crazy 88’s, O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), and Gogo Yubari (Chiaki Kuriyama). In that script, Gogo’s sister Yuki follows the Bride back home to America to get revenge. For those who don’t play Fortnite, you can also see the short on the big screen when The Whole Bloody Affair hits theaters on December 5.

What Is ‘The Whole Bloody Affair’?

Tarantino has been saying for years that he plans to retire after he directs his tenth movie, and for those keeping count, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood marks his tenth directorial release. However, Tarantino himself considers Kill Bill to be one film that just happened to be released in two parts.

The combined version of the adventure first screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 and plans began in earnest to further develop The Whole Bloody Affair in 2008. Since 2011, the complete version of the film has screened various times, most notably at the New Beverly Theater in Los Angeles, which Tarantino owns.

Tarantino shared in a statement about the release:

“I wrote and directed it as one movie — and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie. The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theater in Glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”

Given the passionate following of the two movies, fans have speculated about there ever being a Kill Bill: Vol. 3, especially given that Thurman’s daughter Maya Hawke has entered the acting world and could potentially play the daughter of her mother’s Beatrix Kiddo. Tarantino, though, has previously expressed there’s no need for a third entry, as Bill has been killed.
