Anthony Mackie, Pablo Schreiber, and Ben Foster will find their characters locked in a life-or-death battle in an all-new crime thriller. Written and directed by Tom Sierchio (Gasoline Alley), Raven weaves the tense tale of an ex-cop named Fay Darrow (Schreiber) who is seeking to flee his life of crime after becoming a hitman for the New Jersey mob, according to Deadline.
When his final job goes sideways, a volatile mob underling with something to prove (Mackie) and a ruthless enforcer known as the Taxman (Foster) are sent to kill him. Fay (Schreiber) survives only for the mob’s retaliation to take his girlfriend and destroy his chance at a new life. With nothing left to lose, he launches a brutal campaign of revenge.
Other key cast members include Yellowstone star Hassie Harrison and Band of Brothers‘ Ron Livingston. Raven will be produced by Corey Large (Heist), Jamie R. Thompson (Street Smart) and Michael Benaroya (Margin Call). It’s set to begin production some time this fall.
A veteran of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mackie is known for helming the role of Sam Wilson in a number of films, including Captain America: Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and more. After years as The Falcon, in the Disney+ television series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he finally accepted the role as the new Captain America after Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passed on his iconic shield. As for Schreiber, alongside his work in Halo, Den of Thieves, and The Wire, he also famously starred in the hit prison drama Orange Is the New Black as shady correctional officer George Mendez (better known by the nickname “Pornstache”).
Anthony Mackie and Pablo Schreiber Both Starred in Video Game Adaptations
Never a stranger to the world of action and thrillers, Mackie and Schreiber have also both made their mark in the world of video game adaptations. Mackie currently stars as John Doe in the post-apocalyptic comedy Twisted Metal, alongside Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Will Arnett (Arrested Development). First airing in 2023, the roller-coaster (or should we say, demolition derby?) of a second season premiered two years later in July 2025. Earning a whopping 92% from critics and 83% from general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, Twisted Metal was praised for its uncanny ability to combine action, humor and a lot of heart.
Meanwhile, Schreiber is known for playing Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 in Paramount+’s video game-inspired sci-fi drama, Halo, which follows the ongoing conflict between humans and an alien alliance called the Covenant. Its first season was Certified Fresh by critics at 70% on Rotten Tomatoes, and its second season jumped up to 90%. However, longtime fans of the video game franchise were left largely divided by the series, and Paramount+ made the decision to cancel the show in 2024.
Following its flop at Paramount+, another platform decided to step in. Starting on Oct. 1, both seasons of Halo became available to a broad new audience on Netflix. While it is unclear if the streamer ever intends to acquire the full rights to make a third season, the space thriller at least has a new home for the existing 17 episodes until late 2026.
