Anticipation is steadily building for the MCU‘s next Disney+ offering and the new trailer has finally been released. Watchmen and Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II recently shared a new logo for the MCU’s “best ever” series, sand now the trailer is here for Wonder Man ahead of its highly anticipated premiere a little later than originally expected on January 27, 2026.
Abdul-Mateen II previously surprised his fans and followers when he posted a photo of a peak cap featuring an animated-style logo for Wonder Man on his Instagram (shared below). The title of the show is surrounded by embroidered images of a film camera, a box of popcorn, a palm tree, and a speech bubble with “I heart LA,” promoting a show that promises to be Marvel’s version of The Studio. The actor randomly dropped the image on his grid with nothing more than a sunglasses and peace sign emoji in the caption, but it immediately prompted speculation about the release of the first trailer. “Trailer coming !!” one person exclaimed in the comments, while others declared that they “can’t wait” to get an extended look at the forthcoming series.
Marvel is expected to showcase several projects that Marvel Television and Marvel Animation have coming up on its MCU Phase 6 slate – and possibly beyond – when the studio takes to the Empire Stage at the 2025 New York Comic-Con (NYCC) this coming weekend. It seems like Wonder Man will be one of the titles discussed during the panel, especially considering the timing of Abdul-Mateen II’s post, which has led many fans to believe it is now all but confirmed that the superhero series will debut its first trailer at the event.
‘Wonder Man’ Is Already Being Touted as the “Best Show” on the MCU’s Roster
Wonder Man is co-created by Destin Daniel Cretton, who is currently also working on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Andrew Guest, who serves as the showrunner. It is a satirical comedy that follows struggling actor Simon Williams (Abdul-Mateen II), who lands the leading role in a superhero movie, only to discover that he has actual real-life superpowers, turning him into the courageous character he portrays on screen. Marvel’s Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, described the premise as “a love letter” to filmmakers and actors, while also calling it the “best show no one’s ever seen.”
Early reactions to Wonder Man have also been overwhelmingly positive, with further whispers that it could be one of Marvel’s strongest Disney+ projects to date, that is at least according to several notable industry scoopers. The much buzzed-about live-action series is poised to launch on the streaming service before the end of the year, so fans will have to wait until then to give an official verdict on the show – but if Wonder Man is anywhere near as good as word of mouth currently suggests, then hopefully Abdul-Mateen II’s superhero will have a bright future in the MCU and could show up in other projects further down the line.
