It has now been almost a decade, but the rabbit is about to be pulled out of the hat once again, with the heist sequel Now You See Me: Now You Don’t set to appear in theaters later this year. A new trailer for the long (and we mean long) awaited follow-up has also now been conjured up, and you can check it out below!
Directed by Uncharted and Zombieland: Double Tap filmmaker Ruben Fleischer, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t finds the fantastic four, known as The Four Horsemen, Jesse Eisenberg as J. Daniel “Danny” Atlas, Woody Harrelson as Merritt McKinney, Dave Franco as Jack Wilder, and Isla Fisher as Henley Reeves, as well as Morgan Freeman as Thaddeus Bradley, return for more magic and mayhem, who turn to some new blood for help.
Thus, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t will see the gang of thieving illusionists bring in a new generation of magicians to help them with their latest heist. These new members include Justice Smith (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves), Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers), Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie, Borderlands), and Rosamund Pike (The Wheel of Time) set for key roles. You can check out the newly released trailer and synopsis for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t below.
“The Four Horsemen return along with a new generation of illusionists performing mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film.”
‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ Hits Theaters in November & a Fourth Outing Is in the Works
Released back in 2013 and directed by Louis Leterrier, the first Now You See Me introduced audiences to the secretive world of underground magic and follows magician Daniel “Danny” Atlas and his team of talented illusionists known as The Four Horsemen. The group use their affinity for hypnosis and magic tricks to carry out social justice, and soon find themselves being chased by the FBI, Interpol, a magic debunker, and a corrupt insurance magnate.
While the movie was met with mixed reviews from critics (51% on Rotten Tomatoes, alongside 70% from audiences on the Popcornmeter), it was a huge box office success, grossing $351.7 million worldwide against a budget of $75 million, spawning a sequel, Now You See Me 2, in 2016. The follow-up once again finds the Four Horsemen in trouble, this time in Macau, China, and once again cast its spell on the box office after grossing $334.9 million worldwide despite even worse reviews (34% from critics and 53% from audiences).
Fans have been patiently awaiting Now You See Me 3, which has officially taken their advice and titled the sequel Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, ever since. Thankfully, the sequel is coming soon, with Lionsgate all set to release Now You See Me: Now You Don’t on November 14, 2025. A fourth outing is already in the works.
