Osgood “Oz” Perkins is back with a new horror feature, and it looks like a doozy. The busy filmmaker behind Longlegs and The Monkey is reuniting with Tatiana Maslany in a mysterious new thriller that the latest trailer describes as “a new breed of horror.” The film is set to hit theaters on November 14, but audiences can already get a taste of how sinister the latest Perkins title will be.
Neon released a brand-new trailer for Keeper, which includes quotes of praise from acclaimed horror filmmakers like Guillermo del Toro, James Wan, and Damien Leone. Maslany stars in the film as Liz alongside Rossif Sutherland, who plays her on-screen husband, Malcolm. The pair goes on what is meant to be a romantic trip, but things turn sinister as evil lurks at the isolated cabin. As the latest footage suggests, it seems viewers will be met with an entity that affects more than the central couple. You can check out the trailer below.
The highly vague film only turns up the mystery in the latest trailer, but if the quotes are any indication, it seems audiences are in for a horrifying treat. Del Toro called Keeper “horror origami that skillfully folds into itself,” while Saw co-creator James Wan described it as a “terrifying, ghostly descent into madness.” Damien Leone, the filmmaker known for his work on the Terrifier horror franchise, says that Perkins “further establishes himself as a formidable voice in horror.” Perkins is known for blending horror and dark comedy in his work, but it seems he doubles down on the former this time around.
