Reacher star Alan Ritchson has risen as a fan-favorite to nab a role in the rebooted DC Universe, especially in the search for the next Batman actor. However, it seems the action star has not only ruled out the Caped Crusader, but another key member of the Justice League.

In a recent interview with Liam Saul, Ritchson revealed that he was not looking to take over the Aquaman role in the DCU after playing the hero in Smallville. Despite Jason Momoa moving on to a new character in Supergirl as Lobo, Ritchson showed respect for the actor and clarified he wanted to explore “some new horizons” instead. DC fans can scratch off Batman and Aquaman from the list for the Reacher star, but there is a good chance he’ll make it to the cinematic universe in another role.

“No, no, I’d never take that from Momoa, I have too much respect. I love Jason Momoa. No, I think there, I would definitely wanna explore some new horizons, and I think uh, I have a feeling we may. We’ll see.”

More to come.
