Sanjay Balraj Dutt is an Indian Bollywood actor who mostly works in Hindi films. Dutt has been in almost 187 + films, which range from comedy to romance. He is the only actor from Bollywood was arrested under The TADA as well as The Arms Act in April 1993.
Sanjay Balraj Dutt was born on the 29th of July, 1959, in Mumbai within the State of Maharashtra, India. While Dutt has had immense success as a lead actor in various categories ranging from romance to comedy, his roles as cops and criminals have earned him acclaim.
Sanjay Dutt made his Hindi film acting debut in the movie that became a hit Rocky in the year 1981. In the super-hit film of 1986, Naam was his first major critical success and proved to be a pivotal moment in his acting career. Dutt continued to make films that were a hit during the 1990s, including films like Aatish, The Feeling of Fire, and Saajan, among others. In 2003, he was in the award-winning National Award film Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. which earned him several awards. The sequel Lage Raho Munna Bhai was one of the most acclaimed films he has had in his work. In Agneepath, released at the end of 2012, Agneepath portrayed the part of the psychotic villain Kaancha that critics and audiences wildly loved. He was then a guest in the critically popular film P.K. in 2014.
His personal life, however, has been awash with controversy. He first became addicted to drugs and remained away from the limelight for several years. Then, he was detained for violating the act of arms for storing illegal weapons. It was discovered that he was involved in the criminal underworld too. He was imprisoned for nearly two years, from 1993 until 1995, when being released on bail. He was released on bail in March 2013 but taken to jail for the remaining 18 months. Following his return, He was featured in various films, including Bhoomi, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, and Kalank, among others. None of them had any difference at the box office. The actor will next appear as a character in Shamshera, Sadak 2, and K.G.F. Chapter 2.
Apart from acting as well, he has participated in commercials of various kinds in his long career. He also hosted Bigg Boss Season 5. Super Fight League in the year 2012. He is associated with several charities too.
