CBS’ answer to Prime Video’s monster hit action series Reacher returns with our first footage from the upcoming Season 3. Starring Smallville and This Is Us actor Justin Hartley as the Reacher-meets-The Equalizer-esque Colter Shaw, Tracker adds another small-screen fan-favorite to the fray in Supernatural and The Boys star Jensen Ackles. And you can check out this new dynamic duo in action in the first trailer for Tracker Season 3 below…

While it may not have quite hit the heights of Alan Ritchson’s behemoth action hero, Jack Reacher, Tracker found much success on both CBS and streaming platforms such as Paramount+, Disney+, and Hulu. The series was also met with solid reviews from both critics and audiences alike and now holds a score of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes alongside a respectable 75% from audiences on the Popcormeter. You can check out both the first footage from Season 3 and the official synopsis for Tracker below:

“Colter Shaw, a trusted lone-wolf survivalist who, driven by the troubles of his past, uses his instincts to find the missing and collect rewards. Supported by lawyer Reenie Green, his business handler Velma Bruin and tech expert Bobby Exley, Colter will stop at nothing to get the job done.”

‘Tracker’ Season 3 Is Set to Debut in October

Those “troubles of his past” came to forefront at the end of Tracker Season 2, which finds Hartley’s Colter Shaw and his brother Russell, played by Jensen Ackles, confronting the mysterious death of their father, Otto…and discovering their mother Mary’s potential involvement. Executive producer Elwood Reid has teased how this shocking revelation will develop, telling TV Insider

“One way to weirdly look at it is Colter grew up to be a guy who comes and helps people. I think back in the day, Otto may have been that guy for his mother, but why is going to be a bigger question that we’ll explore in Season 3. Colter’s the one guy that stayed with his mother, his sister [Melissa Roxburgh] went off to live with aunt and uncle, and Russell went off and joined the military. He’s the one guy that kind of lived in that lie, that bubble, that lie a little bit longer. So I think that’s going to come with a big pot of emotion when he does really finally confront his mother about all this s**t.”

Created by Ben H. Winters and based on the 2019 novel “The Never Game” by Jeffery Deaver, Tracker stars Justin Hartley in the lead role alongside Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise, Fiona Rene, Prestyn Bates, Abby McEnany, with the likes of Peter Stormare, Melissa Roxburgh, Jennifer Morrison, and Jensen Ackles featuring in guest roles. Tracker will return this fall, with Season 3 all set to premiere on Sunday, October 19, at 8/7c, on CBS.
