The reign of the Tulsa King will continue beyond the upcoming third season, with the Taylor Sheridan-created, Sylvester Stallone-led crime drama series now officially renewed for Season 4. Created for Paramount+ by Taylor Sheridan, the actor, writer, and director behind the monumental neo-Western hit, Yellowstone, Tulsa King centers on Stallone’s New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi who, after being released from prison, is exiled to Tulsa where he quickly carves out his own criminal empire.
Tulsa King has been another big success for Sheridan and Paramount, who clearly want to see more from the king, as it has now been confirmed that the crime drama series will be back for a fourth season. The renewal comes ahead of the imminent debut of Tulsa King Season 3, which is due to premiere on the streamer this Sunday. You can check out the official synopsis for Tulsa King Season 3 below…
“Dwight’s (Stallone) empire expands, so do his enemies — and the risks to his crew. Now, he faces his most dangerous adversaries in Tulsa yet: the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family that doesn’t play by old-world rules, forcing Dwight to fight for everything he’s built and protect his family.”
‘Tulsa King’ Is All Set to Be the Next Taylor Sheridan-Verse
Tulsa King Season 3 will add several big names to the roster, including Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Peacemaker star Robert Patrick as the Dunmire patriarch, who is described as “a powerful man with deep pockets who works in the liquor business.” Another Hollywood icon is also set to join the fray, with Pulp Fiction and MCU star Samuel L. Jackson joining the world of Tulsa King as Russell Lee Washington Jr., “a friend of Dwight’s from prison who is sent to Tulsa to kill him, only to find himself inspired by Dwight’s organization to the point of returning home to New Orleans to establish himself in the city’s underworld.”
Jackson’s introduction marks Tulsa King’s efforts to become the latest SheridanVerse, with the Oscar-winner set to lead his own spin-off, NOLA King, which will begin filming next year and is written by Mayor of Kingstown’s Dave Erickson.
The future of the main Tulsa King series is also looking bright, with Deadline revealing that Season 4 is “not envisioned as Tulsa King‘s final chapter,” and that, according to some mysterious sources, “talks are underway with Stallone for a new two-year deal and, if the series’ ratings continue to be strong, it could go to six seasons.”
The rest of the cast for Tulsa King Season 3 includes Martin Starr, Jay Will, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, Beau Knapp, Bella Heathcote, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, Kevin Pollak, Vincent Piazza, Frank Grillo, Michael Beach, James Russo, with Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany. The Season 3 premiere is due to debut at 12 a.m. PST on Sunday, Sept. 21.
